Last month of the year 2007

It still has a month to go for ending year 2007. I think most of us as individual or company would treat this month as a reviewing month for staff and company performance in the past eleven (11) months before closing the financial year end.

For those staff that under performing, he/she had to gear up and push himself/herself to grab as much business as he/she could in achieving the sales target but again the management of the company would analyse and conclude what had the sales person been doing for the past eleven months? Last minute business would not come easily especially those company which has the same financial year end with their competitors. They are also hunger for business to book into their account.

This month of December, our insurance industry is the busiest month for those companies whose financial year end fall in this month. Most of them would come out whatever ways and means to secure the business from their prospects or maintaining the renewal business.

Last night, 1.12.2007, Our Insurance Society of Sarawak (PIS) was organising their 28th Anniversary Dinner held at Crowne Plaza, Kuching. The response was not that encouraging as most of the insurance companies was not attending the dinner especially their CEO was unable to come for the dinner.

As for myself, I have a Christmas dinner for our classmates which will be held on 29.12.2007 but the venue has yet to be confirmed as we need to know the number of people who are able to attend.

As for my company, our budget is not achieve as what had set last year end. The budget was sky high and furthermore I just joined the company in August 2007. But this year end I would have to come out with my own budget which I have yet to do it. I think the year end budget meeting is coming soon...... I hope for the best to come in the coming year....

Budget will always be high if one does not work sincerely to achieve them. Of course if the budget is a takeover from another person..we may have the first right to justify them. Never mind about your this year budget...the truth will be on next week budget.

Wishing every success and never give up to work extra hard and sincerely in our responsibility.

We have only left with less than 29 working days in Dec..then auldlangsyne..oledi..

Gr8buds, you knew that my situation and your situation are very different in term of company's management and procedures. My company's decision is only two persons as you knew too but yours is totally different as you are the head of the branch. You have the full responsibility of the branch's performance and reporting to your GM and also KL HQ.

My comment based on the company general point of view is that you have to always act and exercise your duty for the benefit of the company as a whole. But again like what you ever mentioned, we are human being and of course emotion will always plays part of the decision to be taken and so forth.

Imagine you are the nail, your management/company is the hammer and your staff is the wall/wood. The more pressure (hit harder) from the hammer, the more deepen the nail will be drilled into the wall/wood. Sometimes the wall will cracked and the wood will broken. But what happen if the nail broken or bent half way????

Do not side track your answers to my question....

May be you would answer the same answer of a corporate duty but would not want to be committed

Or may be you do not wish to evaluate youself and like to rely on cirscumstances.

Everyone have a responsibility...unless he has the response ability...in referring to your earlier post http://ericpks.blogspot.com/2007/10/shared-mission-eight-traits-of-healthy.html

So, who is holding the hammer ?
